Overview

The SecQuest QuickLook has been designed as a cost effective end-to-end security assessment of your network environment. Its primary aim is to look for security vulnerabilities and configuration errors from the perspective of a hacker.

This low cost assessment is five days in length, and results in a technical report detailing our findings and recommendations for resolving security weaknesses.

The QuickLook will help to answer the common question: ‘Can we be hacked?’

Our 5 Day Network Assessment Process

Day 1

A brief scoping session determines the devices and networks for assessment. Business critical devices can be excluded from any testing. Network foot printing and vulnerability scanning are performed to determine security exposures that exist within the target environment.

Day 2 to 4

Manual and automated tests are performed on hosts with security vulnerabilities to gather information and escalate user privileges. Cyclic probe and attack methods are used. Regular client feedback is provided as the tests progress.

Day 5

Following the technical testing phase we analyse the vulnerability data and produce a comprehensive report. A management summary provides a plain English overview of the target environment’s security posture whilst technical sections contain details of our findings and recommendations to address any security issues discovered.

What is a Network Security Assessment?

Business Benefits

SecQuest understands that sometimes businesses quickly need to know where their security exposures are, so appropriate corrective action can be taken. The QuickLook assessment does not require complex pre-engagement questionnaires or large amounts of scoping paperwork. We can quickly determine if your network environment is at risk due to security vulnerabilities or configuration errors, and provide you with the information you need to secure it. A compromise and subsequent release of financial, confidential or personal data could have a significant impact on your clients’ trust in your business with brand damage and share value sometimes being most affected.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why is a network security assessment important?

A network security assessment is crucial for most organisations because it helps identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses in a network before they can be exploited by cyber attackers. This proactive measure allows organisations to understand their current security posture, address gaps in their defence mechanisms, and implement strategies to mitigate risks and protect their data.

What is included in a network security assessment?

A network security assessment will identify vulnerabilities, potential security gaps, and areas for improvement. This process involves scanning for vulnerabilities, assessing firewall configurations, evaluating access controls, and analysing both internal and external threats to the network. Penetration testing may also be conducted to simulate real-world attacks and assess the effectiveness of current security measures.
